What We’re All About

Sound Doctrine Institute in partnership with Oral Roberts University Bible Institute offers Certificate and Diploma courses in Theological Studies. The Institute will progressively offer bachelors and and graduate programs in theological studies. Sound Doctrine Institute is registered with Texas Higher Education and is exempt by Texas Workforce Commission under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.

The Scriptures make it clear “The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Tim 3:15). The Church therefore has a divine mandate to uphold and propagate the total counsel of God with accuracy and to refute false teachings. Incidentally, every generation has faced false teachings, wrong interpretation of Scripture, lies and deceptions. This trend seems to be on the increase in the present times we live in. The pioneer leadership of this institution, Sound Doctrine Institute, who are committed to Sound Doctrine (Titus 2:1) therefore set out to establish a biblical institution to train believers who will contribute to promoting Sound Doctrine through their ministries and communities.

False teaching shall ultimately lead to ungodliness but sound instruction in the Christian faith has the propensity of producing believers that are spiritual. We believe Christian leaders have a responsibility to adhere to Sound Doctrine for their personal spiritual maturity and that of the believers they lead. Sound Doctrine is therefore a standard requirement for every Christian and theological education in seminaries, Bible schools and colleges are means of accomplishing this goal.

Statement of Faith
What We Believe
Our commitment to the authoritative Word of God informs everything we do at Sound Doctrine Institute.
God
There is one God, the Creator and Preserver of all things, infinite in being and perfection. He exists eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And the three are co-equal and one God. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Psalm 90:2; Psalm 102:26, 27; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
The Bible
The Bible as originally written was inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore is free of error and is God’s Word to humankind. The Word of God constitutes the only infallible guide in faith and practice. 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:13.
Man
Man created in the image of God, disobeyed God through the temptation of Satan. The consequences of man’s action were sin, spiritual death and eventually eternal death. However, humankind can be delivered from this condition only through faith in the finished work of Christ. Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God and co-equal with God. He came to earth and lived a sinless life as the God-man. He gave up Himself on the cross of Calvary as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of humankind. After three days in the grave, He rose from the dead demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father performing His intercessory ministry. He shall return to earth to consummate the eternal plan of God. Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Titus 2:13.
Salvation
Humankind is saved from the penalty of sin through faith in Christ and His redemptive work. Eternal life is a free gift the believer receives through Christ. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He plays an active role in the regeneration of the believer and empowers the believer to live the new life in Christ. The Holy Spirit also makes known the person and ministry of Jesus. 1 Corinthians 12:3; Titus 3:5; John 16:14.
Eternity
Humankind shall eventually live separated from God forever in hell. However, others will live with God forever in heaven. A life of faith in Christ followed by faithful service to God will lead you to heaven. A life of sin shall lead you to hell. Romans 6:23, 1 John 5:11, 12; Revelation 20:15.
